The level editor is progressively updated with new content always free.
343 Industries has introduced the new Forge mode we find in Halo 5: Guardians , describing as "the greatest evolution" of this map editor since it was released with the classic Halo 3.
"For Halo 5: Guardians knew we wanted to take a giant step with Forge," commented responsible for this highly anticipated action game in first person. "The community creativity knows no bounds, and our goal was to give them more power and control than they have ever had."
"We wanted to remove as many restrictions as possible so they could create high-quality maps that will rival those included with the game," he added. In this regard, 343 Industries confirms that over the months the Forge mode update with new content and characteristics resulting from the opinion of the fans.
The control system has also been improved to fit better command of Xbox One, including as interesting as the ability to group objects and apply the same changes to group options. On the other hand we have moved from the hundreds of objects available in previous iterations of the Forge mode, the more than 1600 items including Halo 5: Guardians.
The downside is that this new Forge mode will not be available from the beginning, but Halo fans will have to wait until December to enjoy this level editor.
